The Wildcat boys bowling quest for State ends at Districts with 8th place finish.
The Wildcat varsity bowling team’s season came to an end Friday, February 19, in Lorain, Ohio, at Rebman Lanes, as they came up short in their quest to reach the state tournament finals. The Cats opened the day in 6 place with a 912, just 21 pins out of the cut. Sean Lane paced the Cats with a 217. Jared Medvec followed with a 194. Dom Farrar added a 175, with Ben Bishop tallying a 168, and Brennan Baber a 158. Game2 saw the Cats close to within 7 pins of the cut and 5th place, with a 949 team game. Jared Medvec led the Cats with a 224, followed by Brennan Baber’s 214. Sean Lane rolled to a 199. Ben Bishop threw a 175, and Dom Farrar a 137. The Cats suffered a setback in game3 as they managed an 828 game that had them tumble to 8th place. Jared Medvec led this game with a 237. Brennan Baber notched a 173, with Sean Lane adding a 160. Ben Bishop rolled a 141, and Christian Miner a 117. On the day, Jared Medvec led with a 655 set, which placed him 9th amongst all bowlers, and miss the state cut for individuals by only 15 pins. Sean Lane placed 27th with his 576. Brennan Baber’s 545 placed his 41st. Ben Bishop placed 62nd with his 484. The Cats first two bakers of 229, and 156 had them maintain their 8th place standing. There no change again after the next two games of 212, and 164. The Cats closed out the day with games of 177, and 151. Their total pinfall of 3778, was good enough for an 8th place finish.
